Great news for Microsoft – according to Statscounter‘s Global Stats, in February Bing reached 4.37% of the search engine marketshare worldwide and was ahead of Yahoo who was at 3.93% for the first time. While Google is still far ahead, Bing continues to slowly gain marketshare.

You’re kidding me, right?
Reached 4.37%? And that’s information for a blog post?
WHO GIVES A DAMN ABOUT BING?
Is this a payed article by Microsoft?
Believe it or not this is not a paid ad by Microsoft. We are a Microsoft-based hosting and we are generally interested in what is going on with Microsoft. Maybe you don’t care but there are many out there that do care about what is going on in the Search industry. While you may dismiss Bing, there are many interesting developments. In the recent comScore June 2011 US Search Engine rankings (http://www.comscore.com/layout/set/popup/Press_Events/Press_Releases/2011/7/comScore_Releases_June_2011_U.S._Search_Engine_Rankings), they show that google is stagnant at 65.5% search share, while Bing/Yahoo share has increased to 30.3%. In my opinion, the more competition in the Search marketplace the better. Strong competition will help encourage innovation.
